This is one of the most spectacular and beloved mountainous areas in the world. Located in the heart of Summit County, Utah’s Park City sits only 32 miles from Utah’s larger metropolitan area, Salt Lake City. Park City is most well known for the abundance of outdoor activities in the area, with skiing and snowboarding being the most popular in winter, along with biking, hiking, fishing and more in the summer.
Park City was founded by miners and fortune seeking adventurers of the late 1800′s, a trait it shares with many of the popular mountain towns in the United States. Silver ore was found throughout the three mountain peaks that now make up some of the most popular ski resorts in the country. As the mining boom settled and miners moved on to new areas in search of their fortune, Park City became a meek town. Not until the 1980′s did Park City begin to see a rebound as tourists and mountain enthusiasts flocked back to this small valley in the Wasatch Mountains.
