It’s finally time to get out from behind the desk and onto your skis in Colorado.   Skiing and snowboarding has already started at Loveland and A-Basin, and opening day for the 2009/2010 ski season at most major Colorado ski resorts is just around the corner.

Keystone, for example, opens their lifts on November 9, 2009.  Now is the perfect time to save big on your trip.  One of the largest expenses next to travel, will be lodging, so the rule of thumb from Colorado travel agents, is to plan early, especially if your plans call for visiting Keystone during the holidays, President’s Day weekend, or Spring Break.

With the limited hotel space in Keystone, renting a condo or private home is your best bet.  “Using a vacation rental far exceeds the benefits of a hotel”, according to property manager James Buck.  “Not only do you get more space, but you get better locations with Keystone condos.  River Run is a great example.  Keystone has hundreds of condos for rent in the new $800 million resort, and all are within walking distance of the newly extended Gondola.”

“Ski in Ski out condos seem to prebook at least 3 months early”, according  Buck.  “Here at The Timbers, we have guests reserving condos as early as August for Christmas, and typically they book Spring skiing lodging in December or January.”  The Timbers and Lone Eagle are premier properties at Keystone, and boast true ski in ski out access.  Both compare to a Ritz-Carlton or Four Seasons hotels.

So, according to the experts, you’re not too late to get a great deal on vacation rentals whether it’s at Keystone or any other Colorado winter resort.  The wisdom has and will always be to plan your trip early to secure the best deals and the best Colorado Lodging.
